DAY FOUR: Jan 28th

Today in class, I joined the Web 2.0 and Schools- Discussion group through facebook. This group page will allow me to interact with Web 2.0 members from around the world. I will be able to discuss educational ideas, problems, technology, or etc. with others to improve my future classroom. By joining this group I have met the requirements of standard 5A: Engage in Professional Growth and Leadership; participate in local and global learning communities to explore creative applications of technology to improve student learning.

DAY THREE: Jan 26th

Signed up today with Classroom 2.0... This network would refer to the 3D standard: Model Digital-Age Work and Learning; model and facilitate effective use of current and emerging digital tools to locate, analyze, evaluate, and use information resources to support research and learning. I believe Classroom 2.0 would pertain to this standard because it is open to all teachers to explore classroom ideas. Educators post ideas that worked, didn't work, or etc. in the classroom. In my opinion it is like a huge google based website used for education only.

As a future teacher, I believe Classroom 2.0 will be a good resource for lessons and advice. I am positive I will use it in some way. I need to first learn how to use it and explore the site to get the full effect, but I am sure that when I do become familar with Classroom 2.0 I will use it all the time!

DAY TWO: Jan 21st

As I created my resume with the help of google documents, I realized that this activity related to standard 3A; Model Digital-Age Work and Learning: demonstrate fluency in technology systems and the transfer of current knowledge to new technologies and situations. This standard relates to the google assignment because I used knowledge about myself in which I am full aware of and transferred it into a resume format. I took this knowledge about myself and used it to learn a new technology system.

Google documents is a wonderful system to use because it automatically saves your work. Students can open their work on any computer without a disk or jump drive. I would use this in my class for written work because of the convenient saving mechanism. It also contains multiple formats ready to use, all it needs is the appropriate information put in place.

DAY ONE: Jan. 19th

Today, I set up a blog... I believe this activity met the 3B standard; Model Digital-Age Work and Learning: collaborate with students, peers, parents, and community members using digital tools and resources to support student success and innovation. Setting up this blog will enable me to connect with my teacher and classmates. My blog will allow me to participate in new educational opportunities pertaining to technology.

In the future I would like to have my students use blogging not only to talk to their peers about educational things, but to connect with the outside world. Perhaps this would allow them to learn different cultures.
