EMOTION QUIZ: Feb 25th

Emotions Quiz: Slide Share

DAY TWELVE: Feb 25th

Today, I created a Hypermedia Quiz to help students gain Life and Career Skills. My quiz contained a question in which the student would answer. If the question was answered correctly a "correct" slide would appear and if it was answered incorrectly a "try again" slide would appear. Either way the student has the ability to return to the main question slide and try again. I believe Hypermedia Quiz's help students be flexible and allows them to deal positively with praise, setbacks, and criticism. Students must be positive about answering a question wrong because they will not always be correct. They need to develop a positive attitude that allows them to keep trying until they achieve their goal and I think Hypermedia Quizes do just that!

FINAL: Feb 23rd

My final photo story:

Our President Speaks

DAY ELEVEN: Feb 23rd

I believe that collaborative story writing helps students build life and career skills because they are learning to adapt to change and be flexible. They were able to write their view and then base the ending of their story on my point of view. I think this project allowed them to understand, negotiate and balance diverse views and beliefs to reach workable solutions.

DAY TEN: Feb 18th

Today in class I uploaded a photo story, called Our President Speaks to YouTube. The actions I performed meet standard 2A; Design and Develop Digital-Age Learning Experiences and Assessments; design or adapt relevant learning experiences that incorporate digital tools and resources to promote student learning and creativity. While designing my photo story, I learned to use different digital tools. This experience was very creative and by posting my video on You Tube I am able to be heard by others.

In the future, I woiuld love to use Photo Story 3 to make digital song books. These picture slides with recorded music would be a great way for students to learn and it would be fun!

DAY NINE: Feb 16th

I am now an active member of the YouTube world. By creating this account, I feel inspired to invent educational videos to share with others. I believe this meets the standard 1A: Facilitate and Inspire Student Learning and Creativity; promote, support, and model creative and innovative thinking and inventiveness. I am now aware that I can learn from other members' videos for educational purposes.

As a future teacher, this account will allow me to share my work with the world. I really would like to use this as an opportunity to create and post song books for other teachers.

DAY EIGHT: Feb 11th

I find myself using this standard a lot during my out-of-school life. Standard 4A: Promote and Model Digital Citizenship and Responsibility; advocate, model, and teach safe, legal, and ethical use of digital information and technology, including respect for copyright, intellectual property, and the appropriate documentation of sources. I believe the internet is a wonderful invention; however, I am sure to always stay safe. It is important to know what type of information is appropriate to let out into this technology network. I also find it very important to respect copyright. I use devices (pictures) from the internet all the time, but it is imporatnt to give credit when credit is do.

DAY SEVEN: Feb 9th

On February 9th, I set up a blog on blogmeister. This account will enable me to speak with my classmates and younger students from California. We will be able to learn from each other and discuss educational events. I believe this meets the 3C standard:Model Digital-Age Work and Learning; communicate relevant information and ideas effectively to students, parents, and peers using a variety of digital-age media and formats.

My senior year I depended on the Internet and Blackboard to accomplish my class work. The system was new to me and no teacher was provided so I had to teach myself how to operate the system. I was forced to set my goals for the class and manage my own learning. I soon became very familiar with the technology and rather enjoyed my online classes. I liked being able to work at a faster pace, rather than staying at the same speed of my class. I believe this experience pertains to standard 2B:Design and Develop Digital-Age Learning Experiences and Assessments; develop technology-enriched learning environments that enable all students to pursue their individual curiosities and become active participants in setting their own educational goals, managing their own learning, and assessing their own progress.

DAY SIX: Feb 4th

Today I spoke with a young student over skype about the usage of descriptive words in an autobiography. Spyke is a network that allows individuals to video conference. Through this experience I was able to help a young student from California understand how to use adjectives in a productive way. I feel that this learning experience relates to standard 3C: Model Digital-Age Work and Learning; communicate relevant information and ideas effectively to students, parents, and peers using a variety of digital-age media and formats.

As a future teacher, I find skype very interesting. I believe it is a great communication network. In my opinion it would definetly come to good use between faculty and staff. I would like to further investigate and learn about skype.

DAY FIVE: Feb 2nd

By using google forms, you have the ability to apply numerous questions and depict what type of question they are; whether it be multiple choice, short answer, paragraph form, or etc. This allows assessments to be varied in a productive way. By creating graphs students can learn from each others' answers while remaining anonymous; however, the teacher will be able to know who answered what. Both of these actions are convenient and relate to standard 2d: Design and Develop Digital-Age Learning Experiences and Assessments; provide students with multiple and varied formative and summative assessments aligned with content and technology standards and use resulting data to inform learning and teaching.

I am eager to use google forms because it is fast and convenient. I will be able to create varied assessments in minutes for my classroom. I also believe both of these actions can be used for fun and creative learning; For example: The two questions and graph posted on my blog for my colleagues to answer.
